Hospital quiet hours are from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. every day. Specific departments may have different visitor requirements:

• ICU – visitors are required to check in at the nurses’ station to ensure their loved one is able to receive visitors.
• Rehabilitation Hospital (8th Pettit, 3 Pettit and 3 West) – visitors will be required to check in at the nurse’s station to ensure their loved one is able to receive visitors.

We have 332 inpatient beds including:

• 12 CVICU (cardiovascular intensive care) beds
• 18 SICU (surgical intensive care) beds
• Free parking for outpatients

We also have an additional: 

• 30 emergency room beds
• 48 OR (operating room)beds for inpatient and outpatient surgery

Roper Rehabilitation Hospital, located inside of Roper Hospital, has 66 beds dedicated to rehab care for conditions like spinal cord surgery recovery, stroke and brain injury.

Our emergency room has 30 dedicated beds and is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine doctors and specially trained nurses. We are geriatric care accredited, meaning we know how to treat a wide variety of issues common in older patients. And we’re also certified as a primary stroke center, with the ability to provide fast life-saving care if you or a loved one shows signs of a stroke.

Roper St. Francis Healthcare was the first in the Lowcountry to offer a special robotic surgery for colorectal cancer. Roper Hospital is recognized internationally as a colorectal robotic epicenter. Our robotic surgery program had to meet a challenging list of criteria for advanced colon cancer fighting using a DaVinci robot to achieve this recognition. 

As part of our cancer care options, we also offer TrueBeam treatment. TrueBeam is an advanced type of radiotherapy treatment machine that uses super precise radiation to target tumors and help avoid the healthy tissue around them. It is often more precise and faster to do than traditional radiation therapy.

Our dedicated Breast Care Center covers every step of care for breast and breast cancer care. From imaging like 2D and 3D mammography and breast ultrasounds, to testing, like bone density tests and stereotactic biopsy, our teammates are equipped to help you with whatever you may need.

If you are diagnosed with cancer, you’ll be partnered with a breast nurse navigator who will help you throughout any care you receive and answer your questions. Our board-certified radiologists and interventional radiologists are able to give you a variety of care options including TrueBeam treatment and clinical trial options depending on what’s right for you.

In addition to cardiology care services, we also have a dedicated Heart & Vascular Center. Our center has its own wound care clinic and cardiac rehabilitation program for patients in need of recovery support. 

Services we offer include inpatient cardiac and vascular consultations, outpatient cardiac and vascular clinics on-site, cardiac catherterization, vascular angiography, cardiac echo, nuclear stress testing, coronary CT angiography, vascular ultrasound testing, hyperbaric chambers for wound treatment and exercise stress testing. Our center also has its own imaging and lab services on-site.

Our program for stroke treatment has been recognized by the Joint Commission as exceptional, qualifying Roper Hospital as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. As an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, we provide the highest level of 24/7 care for complex stroke cases using cutting-edge technology and comprehensive treatment techniques.

Our Sleep Wake Disorder Center is ready to help you get back to feeling rested. Staffed by board certified doctors specialized in sleep medicine, we treat conditions like sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, circadian rhythm disorders and narcolepsy. If you’re having constant or chronic problems getting to and staying asleep, loud snoring, choking at night or you just can’t seem to stay awake during the day, our sleep specialists can help with a plan that is made custom for you.

Roper Café offers hot entrée options and quick snacks to go. You can build your own sandwich or wrap in our Firehouse Subs or pick up a Starbucks® coffee at the Coffee Shop.

Gift shops:

You can find a variety of items at our gift shop and stores, including snacks, candies, toiletries, books, magazines, cards, fresh flowers, balloons, assorted gifts and a full line of specialty items for our newborn patients, mother's and cancer patients. Flowers may be ordered for delivery to patient rooms.

Our chapel on the first floor is open 24 hours a day for prayer and meditation. Special prayer gatherings and worship services, usually led by the hospital chaplain, are held in the chapel at various times throughout the week.

For Roman Catholics, Eucharistic ministers regularly bring communion to patients who have indicated that they are Catholic upon admission to the hospital.

For Jewish patients, Sabbath candles are available upon request.
